Katie Simpson
Administrative Assistant | Lansing Urgent Care

Katie Simpson has built her career around a simple but meaningful belief: success isn’t always measured by what you accomplish yourself, but by what you help others achieve.

Since beginning her career in administrative support in 2009, Katie has found purpose in the work that often happens behind the scenes. Her experience spans a variety of organizations, including the Michigan County Social Services Association, Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council, educational institutions, and adult foster care homes. While each opportunity brought different responsibilities and challenges, they all strengthened her passion for organization, creative problem-solving, and supporting the people and missions around her.

For Katie, administrative work has never been simply about managing tasks or keeping things organized. It’s about recognizing opportunities to make something better. Whether developing workflows, refining processes, or creating resources that bring clarity to complicated tasks, she enjoys finding practical solutions that make everyday work more efficient and rewarding. What drives her most isn’t necessarily the process itself, but the people who benefit from it.

In 2025, Katie joined Lansing Urgent Care as she stepped back into full-time work, now that all three of her babies were finally in school! What began as a search for the right opportunity became something much more meaningful. At LUC, she discovered an environment where her love for organization, creativity, and collaboration could come together in new and exciting ways.

Working alongside leadership, Katie contributes to a wide range of initiatives, projects, communications, and operational improvements. She especially enjoys the opportunity to help take an idea from its earliest stages and shape it into something tangible, useful, and lasting. To her, the most rewarding part of her role is knowing that her work helps equip others with the tools and support they need to succeed.

Yet what makes Lansing Urgent Care truly special to Katie is the people. She believes that a workplace becomes something extraordinary when colleagues genuinely care about one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and build meaningful relationships along the way. The friendships and connections she has developed at LUC have made her experience especially fulfilling, reinforcing her belief that a strong workplace is built not only on what people accomplish together, but on how they support one another along the way.

Outside of work, Katie embraces life wholeheartedly alongside her husband and their three children. She loves making memories with her family, spending time in nature, and enjoying life on their little hobby farm. Her faith and involvement in her church community are important parts of who she is, grounding her in gratitude, purpose, and the importance of slowing down to appreciate life’s blessings. While she loves new adventures and making the most of every opportunity, she equally treasures life’s quieter moments, whether that’s a peaceful day at home, time to recharge, or a little well-deserved pampering.

Because sometimes the most meaningful impact comes not from being the person out front, but from helping everyone around you shine.
