What is bronchitis?
Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from your lungs. It commonly develops after a viral infection such as a cold or the flu and often causes coughing, mucus production, chest discomfort, and fatigue. Acute bronchitis usually improves within a few weeks, while chronic bronchitis is a long-term condition typically associated with smoking or chronic lung disease.
What are the symptoms of bronchitis?
Common symptoms include a persistent cough, mucus production, wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, fatigue, and mild fever. The cough often lasts longer than other symptoms and may continue for several weeks after the infection has resolved.
When should I go to urgent care for bronchitis?
You should visit urgent care if your cough lasts longer than three weeks, you develop a high fever, experience difficulty breathing, cough up blood, or your symptoms continue to worsen. Our providers can evaluate your lungs and determine whether additional treatment or testing is needed.
Can urgent care diagnose bronchitis?

Is bronchitis contagious?
